Ceremony Arch Supplies
If you are planning to add flowers to an arch for your DIY wedding ceremony, you will need a few different supplies depending on the look you are envisioning. For a traditional arch with one or two large arrangements, you will need to use Oasis Foam Cages to create the flower arrangements. The foam cages also keep the flowers hydrated for a day ahead of time! You can then use zip ties to attach the cages to your arch.
There are three sizes of foam cages that would work well for arch arrangements. The jumbo wet floral foam cage is best for large installations and heavy arches. You could use this for a big center arrangement, or 2 large corner arrangements on your arch.
The medium wet floral foam cage holds plenty of flowers for an impressive arch arrangement. These are used in the same way as the jumbo cages, only slightly smaller and better for thinner arches.
The oasis wet floral foam iglus are much smaller cages and best for thin arches and small accent arrangements.
For a thin metal arch, we recommend using an Oasis Floral Garland. The garland is not as heavy as the regular foam cages and can be easily attached to the thin arch using zip ties without weighing it down too much.
If you want a more whimsical look, you can simply attach greenery draping around the arch.
Large Ceremony Urn Supplies
If you are looking to decorate large ceremony urns for your DIY wedding, we recommend using Oasis Floral Foam in your large ceremony urns (we love these!). The foam will help keep your flowers hydrated and will make it easy to insert and arrange the flowers in the urn. We also recommend using waterproof tape to secure the foam into the ceremony urn. Be sure to use lots of greenery to cover any exposed foam. For a nice, clean, polished look, you can use Floralife Leafshine to make that greenery really stand out!

Design Master floral spray paint is very easy to use. Simply shake the can well and then hold it about 6-8" inches away from the surface you are painting. For best results, apply several light coats of paint rather than one heavy coat. Allow the paint to dry completely between each coat.

If you are creating an archway installation or large urn arrangement, then you will want to use foam oasis bricks, chicken wire, or foam cages. You will need waterproof floral tape and zip ties to secure these into place. Designer Resin Urns are the perfect size for your ceremony arrangements!
For smaller designs like boutonnieres, corsages, flower crowns, and floral pocket squares, you should not need many floral supplies. Be sure to grab the basics like floral glue, pixie pins, small ribbon, and wire to start!
Floral Foam vs Chicken Wire
There are pros and cons to both types of floral design holders. Floral foam is easy to use because it is soft and can be easily cut into the desired shape. The cons of floral foam are that it does not last as long as chicken wire and can fall apart if not used correctly. Chicken wire is more durable, but can be more difficult to use because it is stiff. Lots of DIY brides love chicken wire because of it's sustainability and earth-friendly qualities. It is important to know which type of holder you need for your project before you start!
